Tesla Powerwall 3 Wi-Fi Reconnect Guide

Tesla Powerwall 3

Before You Start

  • The Powerwall 3 On/Off switch is located on the left side of the unit
  • The AC circuit breaker for the Powerwall 3 is located in your switchboard
  • If a System Shutdown Switch (external emergency stop button) is installed, it will also need to be considered
  • Never restart during a lightning storm or when system components appear damaged

1. Turn the Powerwall 3 switch OFF

Locate the On/Off Enable switch on the left side of the Powerwall 3 unit and turn it to OFF.

  • If a System Shutdown Switch is installed, push it first to initiate rapid shutdown before proceeding
2. Turn the Powerwall 3 AC breaker OFF

Go to your switchboard and turn the Powerwall 3 AC circuit breaker to OFF.

3. Wait 30 seconds

Allow at least 30 seconds before continuing.

  • This allows stored energy to safely discharge before the system is restarted
4. Turn the AC breaker back ON

Switch the Powerwall 3 AC circuit breaker back to ON.

5. Turn the Powerwall 3 switch back ON

Turn the Enable switch on the left side of the unit back to ON.

  • The Powerwall 3 will run through its startup sequence automatically
  • Allow a few minutes for the system to fully initialise and reconnect
6. Verify operation

Open the Tesla app and confirm that your system is online and data is updating normally.

  • If a fault or alert reappears after restart, note the message before contacting your installer or Tesla Support
