- Compliant and Future-Proof: Your existing Powerwall 2 remains fully compliant even if its original Clean Energy Council (CEC) listing has expired; only the new Powerwall 3 equipment needs to meet current certifications.
- Software-Driven Compatibility: There is no requirement for a hardware retrofit as the integration is handled entirely through the upcoming software release.
Important Technical Details.
While this is a game-changer, there are a few specific configurations to keep in mind as we prepare for the rollout:
- Three-Phase Grid Connections: When installing on a three-phase grid connection, the Powerwall 3 output will be limited to 5kW.
- Hardware Compatibility: Please note that Gateway 1 and Neurio Meters are not supported under this new combined configuration.
- Documentation Launch: Tesla will release full commissioning guidelines, including app notes and installation manuals, closer to the official launch.
